Forum Introduction

High performance computing will step into the era of “Big Computing”. HPC not only plays an important and fundamental role in the field of traditional science and engineering computing, but also the trend of merging with cloud computing, big data is increasingly clear. Meanwhile, the definition of computing becomes more widespread. It can be expected that in the next five years we will have supercomputing performance into the Exascale era, which will bring more opportunities of innovation for the whole world.

In order to improve the domestic and international communication between technology and application innovation and share new HPC applications, Asia Supercomputer Community will launch 2015 China HPC User Forum, invite famous HPC experts from R&D and application area to share HPC technology and application development trends.

In addition, on 23rd September, the MIC (many-core computing) training camp will be held for many core computing experience and cutting edge technology sharing.

Asia Supercomputer Community is proposed to set up by the Chinese Supercomputer experts and organized with Japan, Russia, South Korea, Singapore, Thailand, Taiwan, Hong Kong and other countries and regions. The initiation is to improve HPC communication and the development of innovative technologies and applications of China, Asia and the world.

Many-core computing technology training camp agenda:

In recent years, accompanying with the increasing application demand for computational efficiency, more and more heterogeneous architecture is adopted in the super-computing system. In heterogeneous computing, MIC many-core acceleration technology is becoming a trend based on its programming friendly. In the latest of the TOP500, there are 35 systems using MIC many-core acceleration technology. There are 18 sets increased comparing with last year. Based on user requirements for MIC heterogeneous many-core acceleration technology, Inspur and Intel set up MIC program training and invite experts of heterogeneous computing to explain the MIC many-core acceleration technology and share MIC technical case.
